Meet The Server: Wendi Reed

Sunny Street Café in Westerville is full of character. Knick-knacks on the walls, cute little sayings on the chalkboard, and deep involvement with the community makes everyone who enters feel right at home. Wendi Minico has been helping build that feel-good, comfortable feeling since the restaurant opened 7 ½ years ago. She works alongside her sister, Brandi, and is an essential part of the community the Westerville Sunny Street has built.

MEET THE SERVER: WENDI REED

What do you do in your free time?

  • I’m on a bowling team, “Bowling Bad.” Yes, we’re fans of “Breaking Bad.” My two kids are adults now, so I really enjoy the bowling league! When I get home from work I like to unwind, cook dinner, eat, and lately I’ve been watching “The Following.”

So you cook a lot?

  • Yes, I cook every night. RIght now I’m totally in love with potatoes! I also enjoy baking. You know, making cookies is the hardest thing to learn, mine never tasted quite perfect. But my brownies are kind of famous- brownies with marshmallow cream and icing. Yum!

Do you like to travel?

  • Every year me and 10-12 people go to Las Vegas for the Superbowl. We’re all from different states and it’s the only time we get to see each other. It’s one of my favorite times of the year!

What’s your favorite type of pizza?

  • I love plain old cheese pizza. I was a vegetarian for 3-4 years and it became my favorite.
