Meet The Manager: Chris Bonner

Chris began at Sunny Street Café as the “Smoothie King,” worked his way up to the “Muffin Man,” and now is the new manager at the Café in Blacklick. He’s a real, true-and-tried people person, and that’s what he really loves about his work. No day is ever boring, as each day brings new people for him to get to know.

Now instead of him asking all the questions, it’s our turn to get to know him.

MEET THE MANAGER: CHRIS

Are you big into sports?

  • Not really, I am more a music person. I love Elvis Presley. His songs always had a deeper meaning, they really told a story. I used to be a security guard for concerts, so I’ve been to more concerts than I can begin to tell you: Prince, Metallica, Kenny Chesney. I was right in the mosh pit for Metallica.

Do you sing?

  • I do sing, and I’m told really well, but I’m not sure if I believe them. I used to do karaoke a lot, but there doesn’t seem to be good karaoke like the good ol’ days.

What is your favorite thing to cook?

  • I love Italian and fettuccine alfredo is my signature dish. I do 99.9% of the cooking at home for my wife and two kids. Maybe one day we’ll go to Italy to have authentic fettuccine alfredo!

What is the most essential ingredient in the kitchen?

  • Pepper! It’s used in everything! It really gives delicious spice and flavor to anything.
